Coronation meadows - Ground preparation

As part of the Coronation Meadows project in Essex, we are creating a wildflower meadow in partnership with the Essex Wildlife Trust. Before the seed source arrives we have a lot of work to do in removing the vegetation that has sprung up on the finishing soils. To aid with the weeding, the Essex Probation Service came and lent a hand with pulling up the fat hen plants that have sprung up all over the place.

The Coronation Meadows project aims to bring about a meadow in every county to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Coronation.
